Advisory –

WineAdvise works with you to manage the lifecycle of your wine or whisky collection through the process of acquisition, management and selling wine. Advisory is the core of this process.

Acquisition –

Our network of partners and private collectors provides access to most wine or whisky on the market today. We work with clients to determine goals, whether starting a brand new collection or adding to an existing collection for investment or enjoyment. WineAdvise utilizes a 3- tier approach to collecting.

Drinking Cellar – this is wine or whisky that is ready to drink, fall within a per bottle budget and would have no problem being served to guests, drinking with dinner, etc.

Drink/Hold Cellar – These are wines and whiskies that have ageability, but are ready to drink now and over the next 5 + years. These are wines and whiskies that are a bit more expensive, but still within acceptable price range to share or drink with dinner, perhaps more judicially. These wines and whiskies have potential to increase in value and complexity over time.

Hold Cellar – These are investment grade wines and whiskies that are not meant to be drunk for a few years and have great potential to increase in value and complexity. These are world class wines and whiskies found at auction and desired by collectors in any cellar. It is recommended to buy in case quantity (for wine) and perhaps enjoy a few over time.

Sales –

Whatever the reason may be, WineAdvise will work with you to customize a plan to sell part or all of your collection, no matter the size. We work with a network of retail partners, private collectors, consultants, and auction houses to find the best location for you wine.

Consignment – We take possession of your wine and sell on your behalf to our client base at retail prices. This method nets you the most, but typically takes longer. We customize a package for you, but typically charge 18-22% of the sale price.

Brokerage – We locate a buyer for the entire collection. We do not take possession, but work with you to pack the wine, arrange logistics, and find the buyer or buyers to purchase the entire collection in a single sale. This is the fastest and most efficient method, but typically nets a bit less than consignment. Our typical rate ranges from 8 – 12% depending on the collection.

Auction – We have favorable relationships and arrangements with the top auction houses to sellyour wine or whisky. We have negotiated no seller fees as well as favorable placement in the auction, which can be very important – see sales case study (Sales Case Study). We handle all logistics and negotiations and typically charge 8-12% depending on the collection.

We stay independent giving us access to the largest network on the market to sell your wine and net you the most effective amount possible.
